Which Brow Shaping Service is for Me?

Back in the day, getting your brows done was such an easy process — despite the technician leaving us with sperm brows that may have been too thin for facial profile, but hey! at least they weren’t bushy?

Now, we are in an era where ALL brow shapes and sizes are loved and upgrade our services to fill in what we’re lacking and/or to fit our lifestyle. The regular brow wax in the early 2000’s now has a gang of besties to accompany your brow service, making your brow experience a luxury service. But what are these new upgrades? Which option is the best fit for you? Lets dive into each Brow Shaping & Stains service that Lavish Stylez has to offer.

Signature Brow Wax

Signature Brow Wax

A Signature Brow Wax can be seen as your traditional brow waxing service, which includes trimming of the brow hairs, and tweezing if needed. This is great for regular clean ups and grooming. It is a Signature service because at Lavish Stylez, nothing is basic or regular. Upgrade your service with a Sculpted Fill In so that you can finish your day with a more defined brow.

Lavish Brow Wax

The Lavish Brow Waxing services are among the top services requested at Lavish Stylez. This service consists of waxing, and grooming the brows, along with the application of a brow tint, henna, or hybrid stain.

One of my most frequent questions with a Lavish Brow Wax is, “which one do i pick??” Let’s breakdown these three staining methods offered at Lavish Stylez:

Lavish Brow Wax - Tint

Tint: A tint is a chemical process in which I will apply color (think hair dye, but formulated for brows) to the eyebrows. Tint will deposit color onto the brow hair, resulting in a soft stain on the skin. This will result in staining the skin for about 3-5 days, and will last on the hair for up to 6-8 weeks. It is great for those who rarely fill in their eyebrows or want a subtle change.

Lavish Brow Wax - Henna

Henna: Henna is a plant-based alternative (however, still has a low percentage of PPD) for coloring the brows, which makes it great for those avoiding ammonia or peroxide. For this method, ground henna powder is mixed with water to create a paste, which is then applied to the brow area and sits for 15-20 minutes. It is the longer staining method our of the three, but results in a beautiful stain. Henna is best for normal skin types, as dry skin can cause the henna to flake off prematurely, and oily skin can cause faster fading. The benefits of henna is that it is formulated to stain the skin for up to 10-14 days, and it’s a great for those with overplucked or naturally sparse brows.

When it comes to henna, the darker the application, the longer it will last. So, although lighter results are possible, understand that your stain results may not last as long as advertised.

Lavish Brow Wax - Hybrid

Hybrid: Hybrid Stain is the newest trend in the beauty industry and I LOVE IT. Here’s why: Its fast and versatile. Hybrid gets its name for having qualities of the two methods above, combined. That said, hybrid is a dye that utilizes developer to activate (like a tint) and has the staining power that last 10-14 days (like henna). Hybrid dyes were created specifically to stain he SKIN, with a color range wide enough to cater to blonds, brunettes, and black hair colors.

Hybrid is great for all skin types, however dry skin may still result in flakiness (stay hydrated and moisturized!!) and oily skin can cause premature fading. Like henna, even though a softer stain is achievable, the darker the stain, the longer it will last. It is also great for those with overly plucked or sparse brows.

Brow Lamination

Brow Lamination - Lavish Lammie

Another popular trend that has emerged in the beauty industry is Brow Lamination. Brow Lamination is a service that chemically treats the brow hairs resulting in a fuller look, and can also help to smoothen out curly or unruly brow hairs.

Brow Lamination is essentially a “perm,” but for your eyebrows. It is a more gentle formula than a regular hair perm, as the skin on your face is much more delicate than our scalp. This allows your brow strands to be manipulated and will stay brushed in whatever direction you choose.

This service does require you to have some bit of brow! That essentially means that if you have nothing from the mids to the tails, OR if you have a very, very thin brow shape, you may not get the results you’re looking for.

If your brow hairs are long, but grow to the side

If your brow hairs are very course and tend to stick out instead of laying flat

If your brow hairs grow downward or in an undesired direction

If your brow hairs are very curly

Brow Lamination is for you!

Treat yourself to the ultimate Brow Lamination experience with the Lavish Lammie — Brow lamination, wax, AND hybrid stain (I use a brand that has bonding technology, basically like dye with olaplex in one wink wink)
